Smart Irrigation system

Our Smart Irrigation System is a simple and effective way to keep your plants healthy and save water. This basic project uses a soil moisture sensor to check if the soil is dry and a pump to water the plants when needed. Perfect for gardens, small farms, and school projects, and it works without a microcontroller!

How It Works

The system includes a soil moisture sensor that measures the moisture level in the soil. When the soil gets too dry, the sensor activates a relay, which turns on the pump. The pump then waters the plants until the soil reaches the right moisture level, at which point the sensor deactivates the relay and stops the pump.

Key Features

1. Soil Moisture Sensor:

   • Type: Basic capacitive or resistive sensor.
   • Function: Measures the moisture level in the soil and sends a signal when it’s dry.
   • Output: Analog signal that activates the relay.

2. Water Pump:

   • Type: Small submersible or surface pump.
   • Power: Typically 12V DC.
   • Flow Rate: Around 1 liter per minute.

3. Relay Module:

   • Type: Electromechanical relay.
   • Function: Switches the pump on and off based on the sensor signal.
   • Power: 12V DC relay compatible with the pump.

4. Valves and Piping:

   • Valves: Basic solenoid valves to control water flow.
   • Piping: Flexible plastic tubing, 10-15mm in diameter.
