Description

Project Description: This project involves constructing and analyzing circuits with resistors arranged in series and parallel configurations. Students will build two separate circuits: one with resistors connected in series and another with resistors connected in parallel.

For the series circuit, students will connect resistors end-to-end and measure the total resistance using a multimeter. They will then apply a known voltage and measure the current to confirm the calculated resistance.

For the parallel circuit, students will connect resistors with their ends joined at two common points and measure the total resistance. They will also measure the voltage across and the current through each resistor to verify the results.

By comparing the measured resistances with theoretical calculations, students will gain a practical understanding of how series and parallel resistances affect the overall circuit behavior.

Applications:

  • Understanding the principles of series and parallel resistor configurations
  • Calculating total resistance in different resistor arrangements
  • Practical experience with multimeters for resistance and voltage measurement
  • Educational tool for learning about circuit behavior and Ohm's Law
